To apply for a position in the ERTC program, please send the following by email to the Program Coordinator, Dr. Stephen Gramsch (contact information below):

  1. Personal Data:  Your full name, major at UIC, and universities/colleges you have attended, with dates for each one (including UIC), and your first and second choices for research project/research mentor
  2. An unofficial copy of your UIC transcript
  3. A brief resume outlining your relevant experience and skills
  4. A short (1-1/2 to 2 pages, 12 point, double spaced) essay on your scientific interests, and why you are interested in carrying out your own research project. Feel free to be creative, and don’t worry about making it perfect.  What we want to find out is what ideas you have, why you’re interested in what you are studying, why you think it’s important, what you hope do do with it, and how you think doing your own research will help you along toward your goals.

All applications will be carefully reviewed, and all applicants will be notified by email regarding interviews and application decisions.

Applications are accepted on a continuous basis.  Please contact sgramsch@uic.edu for more information.
